Georgia-Pacific’s Corrugated Packaging division is hiring a Technical Account Service Representative to support its Bulk packaging business in the West Monroe, Louisiana market.

The Technical Account Service Representative will be a crucial part of our Commercial Team that will be responsible for servicing top strategic accounts. In this role you will be spending time in front of key customers ensuring GP remains the preferred supplier to these accounts. This will be accomplished through building relationships at all levels in customers purchasing organizations, staying connected to the results we achieve, and effectively communicating solutions to problems. Additionally, you will be expected to understand the portfolio of products we sell these accounts and identifying opportunities for cost out and margin improvement. Contract management, ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, initiative, and bias for action are strongly desired attributes & experience in this role.

Location: Candidate must reside within 250 miles of the West Monroe, LA market.

What You Will Do In Your Role

  • Each day is unique with the main responsibility to serve and maintain strategic account relationships by working closely with customers and our operations / commercial teams to determine business priorities and activities.
  • Regional travel within assigned area and occasional national travel to customers and other Bulk facilities is common in this role.
  • Problem solves quality or service challenges by working with local plant cross-functional teams to analyze, communicate, and drive solutions including timely response of root cause analysis.
  • You will have exposure/work collaboratively with multiple GP capabilities and act as the liaison between your customers and GP customer service, quality, design, production, accounting, shipping, etc.
  • Proactive communication daily with customers to ensure their needs are met.
  • Working with GP legal and our capabilities, you will be responsible for understanding and negotiating contracts with assigned customers that are mutually beneficial to both parties.
  • Facilitating effective product life cycle management – obsolescence, new item trials, preventing stranded inventory etc.
  • Utilizing CRM software to enter new opportunities for these customers to facilitate organic growth with these accounts.
  • On site surveys including completing thorough trip reports to ensure attrition risk is proactively identified and service / quality issues are documented and actioned.
  • Work with GP quality team on customer site visits to perform quality audits on-site at customer and validate quality compliance & trends.
  • Product support as needed by customer on-site in their facility.
  • Work independently against a variety of objectives using time-management skills to meet and exceed internal and external expectations.
  • Technical skills demonstrated daily utilizing tools such as Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
  • This role is accountable for service results, quality results, and business retention for assigned accounts.

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

  • Business to business (B2B) sales experience
  • Former military officers (JMOs) or individuals with operations and/or quality experience will be considered based on experience and behavioral attributes
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50%
  • Valid US Driver's license & good driving record
  • Reside within 250 miles of assigned location
  • Bachelor’s degree or applicable experience considered in lieu of formal education

What Will Put You Ahead

  • B2B sales experience in industrial markets or packaging experience
  • Corrugated and/or packaging industry experience
  • Experience managing large / complex contracts
  • Experience using Commercial Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Corrugated design knowledge
  • Knowledge of packaging quality standards
  • Knowledge of manufacturing case erectors/case formers
  • Master’s in business administration (MBA)
