Positions in this function create and deliver high quality system solutions for our applications, products and services across all technology functions. They consult with users and technology specialists to define business processes and the information systems for supporting those processes. Roles may support both current system improvements and maintenance along with new system development.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works on less structured, more complex issues
  • Serves as a resource to others
  • Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks
  • Translates concepts into practice
  • Provides explanations and information to others on difficult issues
  • Acts as a resource for others with less experience
  • Provide production support to OPTUM360 clients through incident management portal
  • Provide customer and technical service during the intake, investigation and resolution of client inquiries
  • Serve as the liaison to a complex customer base to manage first level response and resolution of issues with external and internal customers
  • Responsible for accurately triaging, prioritization and troubleshooting incidents while utilizing critical thinking skills
  • Collaborate as needed with partnering teams in a timely manner with appropriate sense of urgency and utilizing resources to drive effective and timely resolution
  • Collaborate cross functionally with partnering team to improve the customer experience
  • Follow standard operating procedure to escalate urgent issues where appropriate
  • Identify trends and participate in development and implementation of new procedures, and refining of existing procedures for addressing production support, demonstrate initiative to seek opportunities to create and maintain support documentation
  • Facilitate and coordinate client meetings and weekly calls as needed
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with client to improve customer service
  • Manage and own customer communication while demonstrating confidence, empathy to create peak client moments
  • Identify and resolve operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving environment; learn new topics, retain knowledge and effectively manage time with minimal supervision
  • Ensure consistent adherence to meet and/or exceed department metrics and expectations as well as other duties and tasks as assigned
  • This role is Remote Nationwide (may need to start as early as 7am and there is potential to work an occasional weekend depending on projects that need attention)

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or 2+ years of equivalent IT / technical support experience
  • 2+ years of work experience in Revenue Cycle within a hospital or clinic setting with focus on Billing and Collections
  • 2+ years of experience with data analysis and problem solving
  • 2+ years of experience with process improvement, workflow support, and evaluation of business processes
  • Intermediate Level Proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Claims operations experience
  • Experience gathering requirements from the client/business and documenting those requirements
  • Knowledge of hospital billing systems and /or other related systems and processes
  • Prior experience leading process improvement

Soft Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand and analyze the applications and business functions of the organization
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate with clients and business partners both written and verbal

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada / New York City residents is $28.85 to $51.30.
