Are you looking for a summer job? We have both part-time and full-time positions available! As a Direct Support Professional working in our Teen Link camp, you'll work in partnership with individuals towards activities that build each individual's skill set as well as create natural supports amongst their peers. Examples of this includes participation in skill building classes, art projects, volunteering at local nonprofits, peer led walking club, and more!

Schedule

June 5th, 2023 - July 28th, 2023*

Full-Time - Monday - Friday

7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

OR

9:30 AM - 5:30 PM


Part-Time - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Functional/Technical Requirements

  • Implements services in the community that are based on the Person Centered Individual Support Plan (PCISP). These services may include personal assistance such as transferring and toileting the person serviced. This may also include administering medications or assisting with tube feeding.
  • Transports persons served, as needed, to community activities.
  • Maintains an awareness of and ability to access information relating to an individual.
  • Monitors safety of individuals served and immediately reports and documents injuries, accidents, and incidents following appropriate procedures.
  • Immediately reports suspected abuse (verbal, physical, sexual) neglect, mistreatment, and/or exploitation of an individual served to Manager.
  • Adheres to HIPAA regulations and The Arc of Evansville's policies regarding privacy and confidentiality of individuals served and their families.
  • Implement pedestrian safety guidelines, 24/7 supervision, and skill building for community safely.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Proficient in computer programs routinely used.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a Department of Motor Vehicles background check and hold a valid driver's license.
  • Must have and maintain an acceptable driving record, i.e., less than 3 moving violations within 3 years.
  • Maintains certification for First Aid and CPR and Core A and Core B for medication administration.
  • Ability to work daily with individuals who exhibit potentially aggressive behaviors.

Physical Demands

  • Requires ability to hear, see, talk, read, and write on a constant basis.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands/arms and talk or hear.
  • Frequent keyboarding on computer
  • Ability to regularly lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of community settings which may require sitting, standing, and stooping for extended periods of time.
