Perform a variety of machining by virtue of the skill, ability, and knowledge acquired during the five (5) year tool and die apprentice program or equivalent training. Will be required to run all tool room equipment in a proficient manner, be able to work within required tolerances, and be flexible enough to move around frequently and be interrupted as needed, including assisting production or setup. Must be able to work in a team environment and assist in training as needed. May help fill in as needed on any shift for production coverage.

  Performs all work according to work standards and to proper safety standards.

• Understand the functional operation of all required tool room equipment

• Understand all the associated tools, cutters, fixtures at the machine.

• Performs setups using the proper tooling and fixtures in a safe and correct manner.

• Use all precision machinist tools for setup and inspection of manufactured tooling.

• Run all machines in a productive and proficient manner.

• Select proper cutting tools and correct speeds and feeds, using good judgment in making adjustments.

• Make special tools as required to complete the job

• Have good knowledge of mathematics and shop trig,

• Safely move and set up large pieces using the proper lifting devices.

• Make or suggest special fixtures for special jobs

• Verify quality of each piece before moving to the next station / process.

• Continuously improve safety, quality, efficiency, and procedures to maximize job performance.

• Perform basic Total Productive Maintenance tasks; complete autonomous maintenance checklists; perform basic TPM tasks.

• 6S auditing – Identify 6S’s; assist with 6S audits.

• Maintain good housekeeping and order – use housekeeping tools and boards properly; understand expectations; keep area clean; clean safely and understand MSDS’s & Safety Data Sheets

• Understand the basics of injection molding – complete overview training and know safety devices on machines in cell.

• Communicates well with associates, work in a positive and professional manner. Ability to work with multiple individuals in a group setting and ability to train in all areas as needed.

• Must be customer driven

• Able to assist production as needed.

• Any job-related duties as assigned by your team leader.

• Reports all safety hazards, unsafe working conditions, abnormal circumstances, accidents or other problems to supervision.

• Keeps work area neat and orderly.

Essential Functions:

• Regularly required to stand, lift, bend, twist, reach with arms and hands, stoop, crouch,
• Ability to safely use tools and equipment.
• May be required to get a Powered Industrial License and maintain it.

Qualifications / Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in factory setting a plus.
• Standard Machinist tools
