SUMMARY
Paragon Professional Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently seeking a qualified Training Coordinator in the Baltimore, MD area.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. The Training Coordinator will work Monday through Friday with occasional weekend instruction as needed. This position reports to the Project Manager or designee.
  • Overseeing a training program that maintains the currency of all employee training requirements and certifications, providing documentation to the Project Manager.
  • Ensuring employee training meets or exceeds ICE 2011 PBNDS standards.
  • Providing Initial, OJT, Initial and Quarterly Firearms, Annual Refresher and Non-Lethal Weapons training at the Project Management Office and other hubs as needed.
  • Coordinating with Site Supervisors/Schedulers for quarterly firearms qualifications.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records of training completed by all employees.
  • Ensuring Transportation Officers complete all required annual training to maintain their qualifications and licenses.
  • Updating and submitting to the Project Manager training plans and training schedules at the required intervals for submittal to the COR.
  • Coordinate with corporate Safety Manager and Site Supervisors the issuance of monthly safety training materials and testing.
  • Coordinate with Site Supervisors the issuance of firearms, ammunition, and non-lethal weapons to all Transportation Officers.
  • Periodically review and update contract specific lesson plans, presentation materials, and testing materials.
  • Supervise and evaluate Transportation Officer Instructors at various site locations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum Necessary)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Law Enforcement Officer and/or Military Police Officer or six (6) months experience as a security officer engaged in functions related to detailing civil or administrative detainees or, two (2) years active-duty military service with an honorable discharge.
  • Must maintain an active cellphone to receive assignments and maintain communication with co-workers and supervisory staff.
  • National Rifle Association-Certified Instructor
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
  • Effective organizational skills.
Preferred
  • Possession of a valid Maryland Wear Carry Permit
  • Possession of a valid Maryland Security Guard Certification
  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License or valid Commercial Driver’s License for the state you reside in
  • Possession of a USDOT Medical Card (for CDL license holders only)Current federal background investigation and access or ability to obtain (e-Qip).
  • Active Federal government security clearance.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Government Clearance
  • Ability to pass pre-hire and random drug tests and physicals.
  • Valid Driver’s License for the State you reside in
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Wear Carry Permits in the states of MD, NY and NJ

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
