Your Day to Day:

  • Assess, plan, research, implement and administer training and development programs consistent with plant needs for improving productivity and employee competence.
  • Assess plant training and development needs. Design, develop and conduct training to meet those needs, including management/supervisory techniques, Interaction Management, Human Performance, and operator training.
  • Conduct general and/or special training programs covering specific areas, such as on-the-job training, for clerical, professional, technical, and production employees.
  • Coordinate, develop and administer technical and vocational training and serve as liaison with external education and training organizations as required.
  • Select or develop teaching aids such as training handbooks, multi-media aids, reference materials, computer-based training, and videos.
  • Facilitate team or training council meetings in an effective manner.
  • Recommend appropriate courses for employees. Monitor and maintain training records for all formal internal and external training programs.
  • Train and mentor Technical Trainers and Subject Matter Experts.
  • Prepare and submit recommendations for training budget and administer same.
  • Train first-line supervisors and other supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training including on-the-job training, apprenticeship programs, safety programs, and workplace meetings.
  • Work with management to gain knowledge and identification of work situations requiring preventive or remedial training for employees.
  • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement program and Family Scholarship program.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the various skills and techniques to develop, implement, and effectively carry out training needs
What you need t be successful in this role:
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in education or psychology, with a minimum of three (3) years training or equivalent experience.
  • Training experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
