Tesla is looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented supervisor to lead in the role of the Distribution Training Supervisor through facilitating the Distribution training plan. The ideal candidate will have mastery of knowledge in all Tesla material handler processes and demonstrated ability in preparing and developing training coordinators to collaboratively develop distribution wide training and evaluation standards. The focus of the training supervisor is to ensure training coordinators are prepared in providing the distribution centers’ leadership teams with the highest quality and safest online and instructor led training when and where it is required.
**Must be willing to be based out of Newburgh-NY or Plant City-FL and travel through our East Coast sites to support training**
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and follow up of operational tasks and projects including but not limited to developing training and evaluation standards, ensuring emerging training requirements are developed prior to product launches, ensuring the distribution center growth strategy is effectively executed.
- Collaborate with other departments, particularly with HRP, Process Engineers, Operations Leaders, ICQA, NHO and IT to ensure the training coordinators are ready to deliver the best quality and safest training to the distribution associates.
- Actively identify training solutions for future training implementation strategies.
- Help control expenses, including staffing, supplies, and services.
- Represent Tesla in a professional and responsible manner when communicating with others both inside and outside the company.
- Monitor and maintain control of training coordinators morale, welfare, and administrative requirements.
- Manage escalations quickly and effectively
- Empower and guide training coordinators through challenging concerns, while maintaining training coverage across the distribution network.
- Assist the training manager in recruiting, training, and developing the training coordinators and ensuring all positions are filled in a timely manner.
- Support, implement and provide follow-up for training for all training coordinators to ensure they remain certified and exceptionally capable in delivering all areas of instructor led training.
- Continually evaluate the performance of each employee and provide constant feedback to drive results.
- Identify high potential talent and effectively succession plan for needs of the business.
- Ensure all employees adhere to Tesla policies and procedures.
- Resolve all people and safety issues in a timely and effective manner, collaborating with Human Resources and appropriate teams effectively.
- Demonstrated mastery of resolving material resourcing issues to ensure training coordinators have all required resources to deliver training across the Tesla distribution networks including existing and launches of distribution centers and forward stocking locations.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong and proven experience developing and delivering training to associates in a fast-paced, technology driven environment with responsibilities of developing collaborative training and evaluation standards with all Tesla distribution stakeholders.
- Two years + experience as a Tesla Training Coordinator.
- Ability to demonstrate mastery of all Microsoft applications with particular importance on Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, in addition to SharePoint and other Knowledge Management / document control platforms.
- Demonstrated performance in collaborating with Instructional Designers to develop and effectively manage knowledge training libraries for written job instructions and online learning resources.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritize multiple projects and adhere to business-critical deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Dedicated and ethical approach to Tesla standards.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships acting as a well-respected, trusted partner with whom others want to work.
- Ability to work evening hours, weekends, holidays, and travel across the Tesla distribution network to lead training coordinators.
