ABOUT THE POSITION

Transit Communications/Systems Designer | Hybrid | New York, NY | Newark, NJ

• Assist in development of wired and wireless communication systems spanning several types of transit infrastructure projects (regional rail, subways, bridges, tunnels, multi-modal stations, yards, substations, and maintenance facilities)
• Assist in implementing communications and systems for fiber optic networks and information management
• Assist in designing, building, and maintenance of compound cellular and Wi-Fi networks
• Assist in planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for transit-focused system infrastructure projects
• Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements

Skills and Attributes

• Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in system infrastructure engineering
• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently
• Robust technical and critical thinking skills
• Detail oriented and quality focused
• Strong task management skills

• 3-5 years of experience in transit communications/systems engineering required
• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field of study preferred
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred
