Traveling Specimen Technician

Rate: $20/hr
Schedule: 30 hours guaranteed per week

Requirements:
- Female technician required for observed collections.
- Reliable vehicle, current driver's license and insurance, satisfactory driving record.
- This position requires travel for coverage throughout Minnesota including but not limited to Saint Paul, Saint Louis Park, Twin Cities, Champlin, Minneapolis, & Anoka.
- Flexible and available for all shifts.
- Mileage will be paid.
THE ROLE:
- Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
- Accurately process and package urine and/or oral fluid specimens for shipping
- Record and transfer patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information into our electronic system
- Obtain financial information related to 3rd party reimbursements
- Obtain prior authorizations for urine drug tests based on payor specifications
- Order and maintain inventory of applicable supplies
- Be present, punctual, and available at all scheduled work times
- Perform direct observations during specimen collection, if applicable
- Expected to travel to multiple clinics potentially with short notice
- Response time of no more than 1 hour for unexpected shifts
- Expected to be available to cover at clinics during set working hours
- Will be paid a minimum of 30 hours a week, despite actual hours worked, however if you are unavailable to work during set hours, guaranteed hours will be reduced.
- Expected to organize and maintain weekly schedule based on management and customer needs
- Occasional visits to area accounts for supply drop offs, hold resolutions and/or sample pick up
- Occasional training of new area technicians
- Potential retraining and/or shadowing of FOT workflow
- Potential for travel outside of immediate territory
- Occasional candidate screening for open positions
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Enjoy interacting with clinic staff, patients and field & headquarter based co-workers from all backgrounds
- Basic Computer skills-working knowledge of Office 365, general typing abilities and attention to detail for data entry
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with clinic staff, patients, field managers and home office.
- Work within Precision compliance directives - including Federal/State regulatory laws, HIPAA, and OSHA
- Valid driver’s license and car insurance
- Reliable transportation
- Maintain a professional appearance

- Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include: Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Planner
- Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on:
- Position/Job Role – Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledge
- Project Role – As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project work
- Ad-Hoc – Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skills
ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS:
- This position is Full-Time
- Standard hours are set by Manager based on the needs of the business
- Some nights/weekends may be required
- Guaranteed 30 hours weekly at minimum
- Driving to multiple location sites is required.

The Senior Field Operations Technician role is a key component within the Precision Diagnostics organization. This role is pivotal to establishing and maintaining clinic profitability and adherence to laboratory compliance regulations.
