SUMMARY

The Unit Security Support person will support the Government in the day-to-day implementation of security policy and procedures for six units in the Colorado Springs area. APPLY TODAY! Although this is not an approved position, we are accepting applications for future or anticipated needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Supporting the supervision of daily security activities and enforce company and Government security policies for 6 units
  • Performing access control responsibilities including managing badges, access cards at Space Base Delta 1
  • Supporting the Government in certifying and receiving SCI visitor clearances/accesses
  • Helping the Government manage the Delta 6’s National Industrial security program (NISP) in accordance DoD Manual 5220.32 National Industrial Security Program: Industrial Security Procedures for Government Activities Volume 1
  • Supporting the Government in managing the Insider Threat Program Senior Official (ITPSO) including tracking training status of all Delta 6 personnel, in accordance with Air Force Policy Directive 16-14
  • Creating and distributing security related materials, posters, and documents as needed
  • Helping the Government maintain the facility clearance in accordance with Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency requirements
  • Helping the Government implement procedures for handling proprietary, business confidential, and government classified information
  • Assisting the Government in process requests for granted personnel security clearances; Review and submit documents as required
  • Assisting the Government in performing periodic security inspections and annual self-assessments; prepare vulnerability reports; brief senior management on deficiencies and corrective action plan
  • Maintaining continuing liaison, with collateral security officials to ensure both security levels are mission accomplished
  • Assisting the Government in maintaining the Defense Information System for Security system to accurately reflect all personnel under their organization
  • Providing all security awareness trainings as required by regulations in accordance with Commanders’ Support Staff Execution, Organization, and Responsibilities
  • Providing training up to 25 times annually
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

  • This position has no supervisory and/or managerial authority

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5-7 Years’ Experience in a Security Support Officer role

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Candidates must be US Citizens
  • Candidates must hold an active SECRET clearance
  • Candidates will be subject to a US Federal Government background investigation and must favorably pass a drug screen
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and judgment skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Workspace will be in a US Government Facility with controlled access and/or military installation

  • There is 0 – 10% travel associated with this requisition
