Kilgore Veterinary Associates is seeking a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and wants to be part of a fun loving, supportive team. Must have current licensure and at least one year of experience in a Registered Veterinary Technician role.

The following duties and responsibilities are required of an RVT:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates proper animal handling and restraint.
- Demonstrates ability to perform jugular and cephalic venipuncture, as well as urinary and fecal sample collection.
- Performs necessary lab test on in-house equipment.
- Monitors hospitalized patients, included maintaining IV fluids, medicating and feeding as necessary.
- Anesthesia induction and monitoring.
- Dispenses medications both for us in-house and sent home with patient.
- Communicates with clients including surgical and hospitalization discharges, medications, preventatives, etc.
- Demonstrates ability to operate digital radiograph unit
- Documents test results and delivers to appropriate personnel.
- Prepares specimens for mailing to hospitals according to practice requirements.
- Assures all exam rooms are adequately stocked for each day's appointments.
- Maintains cleanliness of exam room at all times.
- Takes medical histories and vital signs of patients.
- Performs departmental housekeeping duties in accordance with daily needs.
- Takes, processes and logs prescription refills in-house, call out pharmacy and online pharmacy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Texas is required. Must have at least one year experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician.
