Finance Account and Control Specialist
We are searching for an International volunteer in
Finance to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This mission will take place in Accounting and Controlling, working directly under the Finance Director. This role will work closely with several departments as purchases, sales, and marketing. It will provide entry-level professionals with real-world learning opportunities to help build future careers.
The main responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Review daily bank auto-draft expense payments
- Review and agree receivable aging to general ledger monthly
- Assist in reconciliation of Employee PO and T&E credit card expenses
- Assist in maintaining tax exemption certificate database
- Assist in implementation reconciliation accounts software
- Analyze and research financial information pertaining to statements of operations
- Assist with performing research on technical accounting matters, as they may arise.
- Support the audit/review of our financial statements by our external auditors.
Controlling:
- Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures
- Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions.
- Partner directly with the finance team and central FP&A groups to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
- Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights.
- Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization.
- Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
- Work with a Business Intelligence Tool and Dashboard reports
- Assists in designing financial reports and provide trend reporting and other analysis
- Analyze and research financial information pertaining to statements of operations
- Cash flow follow up and forecast
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
With a good general knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles, your previous academic and professional experiences have driven you to sharpen your analysis skills and your problem-solving orientation in order to influence in a creative and strategic way.
We are looking for someone who has already demonstrated a strong leadership and adaptation skills through previous work or academic experiences: written and verbal communication skills, adaptability to different organization level interactions... Very stimulated in challenging, multi-tasks and dynamic environments, the perfect candidate has the ability to work in fast-paced and deadline-oriented contexts without neglecting to pay attention to details. Indeed, the ideal candidate can multitask, pivot, and stay organized.
The candidate must also be comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint )
