Job Description:
We are part of a group of small companies looking for someone interested in learning the nuts and bolts of logistics of the wine and spirits industry from the bottom up.
This candidate will need to be a true team player willing to help with all tasks that come up. Flexibility and cooperation will be extremely important. The willingness to participate in deliveries, warehouse work, office computer tasks as well as customer service relations will all be part of their day to day. The duties for this job are extremely important to all the team members, everything that is done will affect other member’s ability to do their jobs. This position is the position that keeps all of our functions and businesses flowing smoothly.
We have a small, dedicated staff and everyone must pitch in and help each other to keep this ship sailing smoothly. From managing recycles and garbage, to helping to maintain our inventory database, and helping with customer needs.
This opportunity will allow you to learn about wine and spirits, as well as the logistics of moving wine and spirits from vendor/supplier to end users.
We are a premier wine supplier and education center in Pittsburgh with high standards that must be met every day. This attention to detail and quality are extremely important to everyone that works here and everyone is expected to help maintain these standards, along with participating in new ideas to improve what we are doing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the pick up and deliveries of shipments to the Liquor Control Board's warehouses. This is one of the major responsibilities of this position
- Work with scheduler to plan pick ups across the state
- Deliver pallets to the Warehouse in Pittsburgh (usually 9am appointment/start time would be 8am)
- Confirm all needed paperwork is correct
Pull Items for Orders: (This task will directly relate to managing the inventory.)
We get orders from a variety of sources: i.e., for restaurants, for events, for retail customers etc. .
- Set orders aside and label
- Coordinate this with those processing the various types of orders
Manage Inventory
This task is extremely important and helping to keep the inventory count accurate. Everyone in the companies uses this information. We have a small warehouse in Lawrenceville with a variety of wines, spirits and sake from around the world.
- Physically check inventory
- Update online inventory database
- Alert owners when an item needs re-ordered
- Confirm incoming orders
- Add incoming inventory to online database
Cleaning & Organization
We all participate in this duty, teamwork makes it easy! We keep our warehouse, classroom, and store clean for everyone’s safety and efficiency.
- Keep warehouse clean
- Manage Recycling and Garbage
- Help keep the store tidy
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicles
Shipping
This is a joint project and during the holidays additional staff is brought in to help. We regularly coordinate shipping of gifts and wines with UPS.
- Build and pack boxes
- Print labels and label boxes
PLCB order system
We have no expectation that our new team member will know this but, they must be willing to learn the systems for PLCB (Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board). We all refer to this system daily as part of order processing.
- Have an understanding of how the PLCB system operates
- Be able to enter orders
- Process approved orders
Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly
- Must enjoy an ever-changing day-to-day routine
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines
- Must be able to drive a box truck and have a clean driving record
- Detail oriented and organized
- Forklift skills / willingness to learn
Job specifics:
This is a full-time position, that requires daily deliveries and warehouse work.
Some Saturday hours are required.
This job requires that you come to our location
Some early morning and evening hours are required

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
