Position Summary

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the overall operation of the Miami warehouse. This includes leading the warehouse team, ensuring cargo is handled in the most appropriate manner, ensuring the safe use of equipment as well as overall safety of the warehouse, ensuring that every team member is fully compliant with all TSA, CTPAT and OSHA regulations always, using the WMS (Magaya) correctly and ensuring that all employees use the WMS correctly.

Please note that this role is on-site in Hialeah, FL. A hybrid option might be available after 90 days of work.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Give constructive feedback to your employees in order to improve performance
  • Manage, motivate, train, and delegate duties to warehouse assistant managers and warehouse employees
  • Ensure warehouse staff understands and follows all procedures
  • Ensure warehouse employees are cross trained so all tasks can be performed by at least two people in each department
  • Interview temporary staff and ensure they are always meeting BWS requirements and standards
  • Ensure warehouse employees and relevant office employees are informed on processes, guidelines and tools such as SOP’s
  • Take responsibility for all warehouse-related processes
  • Implement and maintain warehouse management system including inventory management procedures such as scheduled cycle counts, physical count etc.
  • Be responsible for running a smooth and efficient warehouse operation with key focus on customer service, space utilization, and profitability
  • Monitor, analyze, and discuss warehouse operational processes with General Manager to continuously improve working procedures
  • Implement new procedures in cooperation and agreement with the General Manager, operations manager, and assistant managers of the Marine Logistic department
  • Be responsible for creating and managing warehouse employee schedules
  • Be responsible for all U.S. Customs, TSA and CTPAT safety compliance matters within warehouse
  • lead weekly team meetings
  • Ensure warehouse is clean and presentable to customers
  • Ensure a safe environment with zero incidents
  • Ensure receiving process is run efficiently and correctly with no errors
  • Ensure all freight received is inspected, received in good condition, weighed, labeled, and stored in a timely manner
  • Take responsibility in loading and cross loading planning
  • Keep the warehouse operations flexible in relation to customer needs
  • Ensure a LEAN and efficient operation in Miami warehouse
  • Ensure billing, cost accruals and monthly reporting are completed on time
  • Control cost and adjust as needed
  • Ensure warehouse customers are being invoiced in due time
  • Ensure high quality within the defined KPI’s
  • Ensure ongoing analysis to improve client’s supply chain
  • Maintain professional atmosphere and communication internally and externally
  • Ensure that all employees work together in accordance with BWS strategy, business goals and culture
  • Understand all employee talents and shortcomings to challenge, explore and develop everyone’s potential
  • Communicate clear expectations to employees
  • Give and receive honest and constructive feedback to management
  • Greet guests in a professional and friendly manner and ensure that they feel welcome in your warehouse
  • Set an example for warehouse staff in accordance with Blue Water’s culture, values and strategy

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years warehouse management experience
  • Capable of adjusting your communication style to respectfully communicate with different types of personalities – towards customers, business connections, employees and colleagues
  • Able to take team members’ suggestions to improve departmental procedures
  • Able to create and maintain a team spirit in the warehouse through teambuilding and development
  • Proactive mindset and strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any mishaps that may occur in a shipment
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and meet their needs
  • Magaya experience preferred
  • LEAN, SIX SIGMA or similar experience preferred
  • Freight forwarding experience preferred
  • Spanish preferred
