Job duties of a RN House Supervisor includes the following:

• Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring and firing.
• Continuously supervises staff to ensure quality of nursing care.
• Maintains performance improvement activities for the department.
• Provides education to staff on performance improvement. Ability to plan and organize orientation and in-service training for unit staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of patient including, pediatric, adolescent, adult and the geriatric population.
• Performs nursing assessments on all patients and reassessments as per policy. This includes pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and the general patient population.
• Assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
• Performs thorough patient psychiatric interviews.
• Continuously observes patient's behavior, mental status and activities.
• Formulates and implements patient plans of care; family is included when appropriate.
• Revises plans of care as indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluates overall plan daily for effectiveness
• Performs treatments and provides services to level of licensure.

Qualified RN House Supervisor candidates should have the following:

• Associate Degree or above in Nursing from an accredited school
• Valid active Missouri or Compact Registered Nurse license and active BLS Certification
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in nursing with one (1) additional year of experience in psychiatric behavioral nursing preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to always follow them
• A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Responsible and compassionate
• Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
