JESSUP PR, a rapidly-growing Public Relations agency is currently looking for an Account Supervisor. The role requires day-to-day operations support across multiple accounts, serving as a client lead, ensuring a consistent cadence of communication to clients and securing valuable media coverage. The Account Supervisor will manage members of their team to execute strategy and pitching efforts on behalf of clients and will be responsible for quality checks on materials before sending them to the client.

The ideal Account Supervisor candidate will have 5-8 years of experience, an understanding of the changing media landscape and must be enthusiastic, optimistic, and possess a drive for results. They should have strong skills in leadership, critical thinking and organization with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage team members in order to deliver results and maintain successful client relationships.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Work to secure meaningful media coverage that supports client objectives
• Routinely assess client satisfaction and keep leadership updated on any potential issues.
• Oversee all written materials such as client agendas, call recaps, strategy documents, press releases, reports, event briefs, etc.
• Oversee development of client’s key messages and campaign pitch messaging
• Maintain and maximize relationships with high-level national print, online, and broadcast media contacts.
• Consistently offer staff members thoughtful, strategic guidance on pitching efforts to ensure account teams are pitching appropriately and regularly.
• Serve as a role model within the agency, demonstrating ways to problem solve and think critically about everything from client issues to internal challenges
• Evaluate client’s asset base regularly in order to assist the team with identifying story angles as well as undertaking proactive media engagement, including writing press releases and pitching feature articles.
• Relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media
• Oversee client campaign trackers, including coverage reporting, pitching calendars
• Oversee media events as required.
• Ensure JESSUP PR protocols are observed and communication to the client is energetic, timely and accurate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Integrated Communications or a related field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in communications and/or public relations.
• Existing strong relationships with media contacts, particularly Food, Consumer Goods, and Business media
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and extensive experience drafting and editing articles, press materials, key messages etc.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Demonstrates initiative and desire to expand personal knowledge to better client practices
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team, and willingness to 'pitch in' as required
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, outside normal office hours if-needed, and to be on call as required during early mornings, evenings and weekends to handle media inquiries
• Experience managing direct reports
• Previous Senior Account Executive public relations experience
