ROLE SUMMARY:
C-Sweet, Hershey’s in-house creative agency, is looking for a new member to join their best-in-class earned media team. This new energetic team member will be responsible for creating and driving earned media for our portfolio of brands. This role is part of a small but mighty team that defines and delivers unique and powerful earned media programs for marketing initiatives, including but not limited to product launches, campaigns, promotions, seasons and agile opportunities. This role will also lead a modern approach to earned media with development of engaging, creative social components and influencer campaigns to redefine and fuel earned media at Hershey.
As part of a multi-faceted team, this new member will have the opportunity to wear many hats and act as a publicist, writer, producer, project manager and more while collaborating team members across the larger C-Sweet team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategy & Creativity: Ability to develop strong media strategies and creative opportunities to cultivate stories, messages and campaigns
- Writing & Editing: Proven ability to plan/write/edit/proofreads content that is strategically crafted to convey key messages and drive positive editorial coverage that align with business/brand goals
- Media Relations: Forge positive relationships with journalists, producers and influencers to manage inquiries, develop lists and serve as a passionate spokesperson for our brands
- Visual Storytelling & Content Creation: Leverage creative assets to tell compelling visual stories and ensure all content are thoughtfully designed to drive media and consumer excitement
- New Media: Proven experience with integrated campaigns, social channels, influencers and the strong desire to leverage new strategies, tactics and execution opportunities to elevate earned media
- Project Management: Strong ability to lead programs from start to finish (briefing, planning, execution and beyond), including budget management and results/measurement
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, Education, Experience, etc.):
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in earned media, public relations, communications, publicity, press, project management, with at least 2-3 years specific social content creation, media outreach, and influencer engagement. Agency experience is a plus.
- Strong writer and native social content creator
- Proven ability to communicate, organize and manage multiple projects
- Positive, inquisitive attitude with an eye for detail
- Strategic mindset that is creativity curious with a nose for news and stellar judgement
- Resourceful, responsible and reliable with a willingness to work on varying and tight deadlines; may include evening and/or weekends
- Fluid, flexible and a desire to continuously learn and adapt to a changing media landscape
- Strong work ethic with the ability to handle multiple projects and unique opportunities in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
