SUMMARY
This position computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records. Counts all receipts from cash operations. Ensures compliance with company cash handling procedures and reports discrepancies. Prepares daily deposits for armored car service or bank. Prepares change orders and change banks as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Counts all receipts from cash operations and balances transactions.
- Ensures compliance with company cash handling procedures and reports discrepancies.
- Prepares daily deposits for bank.
- Maintains cash levels in the vault to balance with Controllers ledger account.
- Prepares change orders to ensure quantities of change are adequate for upcoming events.
- Promptly reports cashier, server, bartender, and any other position overages/shortages to the controller.
- Keep manager promptly and fully informed on all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to their attention.
- Complies with all company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to service and safety.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years experience.
- Understanding of accounting processes and GAAP principles.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
- The employee frequently is required to operate and use accounting tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
- The employee may need to travel (locally) to other properties occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Two-year degree in accounting.
- Advanced experience working with Microsoft Excel.
- SAGE experience extremely useful.
