Role Summary

As a Real Estate Americas' Investment Specialists, you will play a lead role in prospecting for new clients, deepening existing client and consultant relationships, creating and providing thought leadership. Geographic focus of the role is in the Western United States. Geographic focus notwithstanding, we take a flexible approach to territory management and look to leverage the relationships that each of our investment specialists have in the market. The position will report to the US Head of Real Estate Client Strategy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Growing and maintaining our Real Estate Americas book of business with our U.S. client base (including corporate pension funds, state and government sponsored investment funds, insurance companies, endowments and foundations, as well as other investors).
  • Initiating relationships with new clients, expanding number of mandates with existing clients, garnering additional commitments for existing mandates as well as maintaining existing mandates and pursue new business opportunities which fit with our business platform and model, identifying the investment organizations which are prospects for our products and services and establish relationships with senior investment professionals at these organizations
  • Establishing an annual strategic plan, maintaining regular contact with key client representatives, including field consultants, delivering very clear and concise account reviews, including thoughtful interpretations of near term economic and other relevant external events.
  • Understanding client investment goals and objectives and providing thought leadership on solutions to meet their investment objectives.
  • Keeping abreast of the competitor landscape and providing insights and driving messaging on how to position our strategies to best compete
  • Establish excellent collaborative working relationships with the Client and Consultant Advisor teams, investment teams, research, portfolio managers, investor relations, product development and other key stakeholders across the firm.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience successfully raising capital for real estate investment strategies or equivalent investment experience
  • Network of relationships with Western U.S. institutional real estate investors
  • Ability to deliver concise, persuasive and technically sound new business presentations and investment reviews including market outlook, fund/portfolio and underlying investments
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and intellectual curiosity in the subject matter
  • Strong understanding of regional economic forecasts and the ability to interpret them relative to the performance of all products being represented by this team;
  • Ability to incorporate current economic forecast information from internal and external sources into asset class and fund positioning communications and working knowledge of portfolio construction and strategic asset allocation
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Series 3, 7 and 63 certifications (or willingness to achieve)
  • MBA/CFA preferred
