Corcept is engaged in the discovery and development of drugs that treat severe endocrine, metabolic, oncologic and neurological disorders by modulating the effects of the hormone cortisol. Since 2012, we have marketed Korlym® for the treatment of patients suffering from Cushing's syndrome, a life-threatening orphan disorder caused by excess cortisol activity.
In addition to our commercial product, Korlym, we have discovered a portfolio of more than 1,000 proprietary selective cortisol modulators. Lead compounds are in Phase 2 and Phase 3 trials for the treatment of patients with Cushing's syndrome, advanced ovarian cancer, castration-resistant prostate cancer, weight gain caused by antipsychotic medications and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis ("NASH"). We are about to start a Phase 2 trial in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis ("ALS").
In 2021, we generated revenue of $366 million and net income of $112 million.

The Associate Clinical Specialist will support an assigned Executive or Senior Clinical Specialist as they develop and manage a designated territory with the goal of maximizing sales. You'll be responsible for identifying and developing business relationships with targeted health care providers.
Responsibilities:

  • This role provides a unique opportunity to learn the ropes of the rare disease industry while gaining valuable experience to develop your skillset into a Clinical Specialist role.
  • Support Executive or Senior Clinical Specialist disease awareness, selling and retention efforts to meet or exceed sales and retention goals in assigned territory.
  • Integrate and partner with assigned Clinical Specialist and cross-functionally to maximize appropriate territory activities and accomplish positive results for Corcept Therapeutics, the customer, and patients.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize time and resources to maximize support of Executive or Senior Clinical Specialist.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with designated customers in the territory to enhance company and/or product loyalty and build the Corcept Therapeutics brand.
  • Provide subject matter expertise concerning scientific and clinical information of Cushing's Syndrome and Korlym.
  • Seek and analyze information on competition, market, and industry trends, and discern how this could impact the business and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Leverage understanding of clinical studies and disease state to consult, influence, and maintain customer relationships.
  • Understand and address both business and scientific oriented needs of healthcare professionals by engaging in meaningful dialog to determine underlying patient needs and determine if products could address such needs.
  • Pro-actively participate in continuous learning and development programs, such as technical updates and professional skills enhancement.
  • Adhere to company standards and values for personal honesty, integrity, trust, respect, and accountability.
  • Perform all responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable state and federal rules and regulations.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience in successfully presenting complex clinical information in partnership with experience introducing a new paradigm or new drug class to a physician base.
  • Flexibility to adapt and maintain business complexities in a fast-paced, changing landscape.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to listen to and articulate results and issues.
  • Required to travel up to 100% of the time, including up to 50% overnight travel.
  • Must maintain a Department of Motor Vehicles' driving record in accordance with Corcept Therapeutics' fleet, federal and state requirements.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical sales experience or 5 years of business-to-business sales experience required; recent endocrine relationships preferred.

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $75,000 - $90,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. An annual cash bonus and equity grants may be provided as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other wellness benefits, dependent on the position offered.
