The Office of Housing and Residence Life is looking for a dynamic leader to join their student-centered team. The Associate Director of Business Operations serves as a senior member of the Housing and Residence Life Leadership team at Ball State University. The Associate Director works to develop the strategic direction for all aspects of the day-to-day management of the business operations in the Department of Housing and Residence Life specifically in the areas of occupancy management, marketing and communication strategy, and technology and information systems within HRL. Provides oversight and supervision for a business operations team consisting of two assistant directors, occupancy specialists, and systems specialists including recruitment, selection, coaching, performance appraisals, and training of personnel across Housing and Residence Life. Experience in data-informed decision-making and experience with StarRez is strongly encouraged.

Position Function
Provide oversight and supervision for all aspects of business operations in Housing and Residence Life including Occupancy Management and processes, housing contract and lease development, marketing and communication functions, and technology and information systems. In collaboration with the AVP/Director of HRL create and implement the strategic direction and planning for business operations management in Housing and Residence Life. Sit on the executive leadership team for Housing and Residence Life. Serve on regular leadership on-call duty rotations.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
3 years’ experience in housing, residence life, occupancy management, housing information technology, or related field.
Minimum Other
Understanding of university environments; excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Experience
5 years’ experience in housing, residence life, occupancy management housing technology or related field. Significant experience with StarREz preferred. Banner experience preferred.
