Douglas and Sharon Weaver started the Douglas J family of companies in 1967 with five employees and a passion for the Salon/Spa industry. They wanted to build a location that could pride itself on exceeding the guests’ expectations with every Douglas J experience. Since the initial opening, Douglas J has gone through 50 years of growth, expansion and evolution. We now have 9 locations including Aveda Institutes, Aveda Concept Salons and our Aveda Salon & Spa. We offer a complete menu of services in hair design and color, skin care, nail therapy, and massage therapy. About the position:

We’re seeking an experienced operations leader with a strong professional background in business, hospitality, and team development. In this role, you will actively direct all aspects of the Institute to cultivate an environment where students and staff are engaged and desire to deliver on the company’s benchmarks and standards. As the Institute Director, you will focus on:

• Establishing a culture of strong team member accountability through leadership, team recruitment and retention, proper direction, and ensuring all employees are connected to the values and goals of Douglas J
• Driving revenue by achieving enrollment goals and ensuring the delivery of student and guest experiences meet the standards established by Douglas J
• Ensuring all practices at the Institute meet the highest standards of regulations and guidelines from local and national accrediting agencies and Department of Education
• Implementing our marketing plans that will aid in achieving your location’s benchmarks

• An active operations leader who values the importance of being present and involved in all aspects of the Institute
• Experience managing a team, coaching on job performance and fostering employee development
• Problem analysis and resolution at a strategic and functional level
• Ability to manage and inspire teams based on financial benchmarks
• Ability to form and implement action plans to achieve business goals
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines
