Exciting opportunity to join a growing analytics team as the organization is about to embark on a digital transformation journey driven by data analytics. The Power BI Developer is responsible for analyzing the needs of the various functional business areas within IWS and provide Power BI dashboards combining data from various data sources. The Power BI developer works closely with the business and FP&A teams to design, develop, document and test Power BI solutions that meets the business requirements. Developer identifies the right source and update frequency and helps with creating training documentation and helps implement new solutions and progressively make changes to improve applications further.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet and work closely with business stakeholders and operational teams to gather reporting and dashboard visualization requirements.
- Develop visually appealing reports, KPI scorecards and dashboards using Power BI Desktop.
- Design and develop Microsoft BI Solutions including data models, OLAP cubes, and reports utilizing Microsoft SQL BI Stack and Power BI
- Installation and configuration of data gateways.
- Ownership of the IWS Power BI ecosystem including:Build effective and visually pleasing dashboards / reports to represent the key business metrics with ability to drill down
Central point for all levels of security across Power Bi visuals, reports, dashboards, and filters.
Integrating Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service or API automation.
Publish and schedule automated refreshes per business requirements.
Develop tabular and multidimensional models that are compatible with data warehouse standards and follow industry best practices.
Build and maintain DAX queries and functions in Power BI.
Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights.
Develop logical data models for the databases
Administration of a Power BI reports library, which includes documentation, versioning, archiving.
- Utilize problem-solving skills to understand process pain points and troubleshoot as challenges arise.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Skills
- High level of competency in DAX expressions and Power Query
- Should be familiar and experienced with the Microsoft SQL BI Stack
- Installation and configuration of data gateways.
- Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools Azure Data lakes, Databricks, Synapse, ETL, API integrations and OLAP cubes.
- Experience modeling data and building reports from multiple data sources.
- Expert in creating data visualizations and advance calculations (Aggregate, Date, Logical, String, Table) using Power BI
- Experience with multidimensional and Tabular data warehouse design, including a solid understanding of MDX/DAX, calculated measures, hierarchies, slowly changing dimensions, and data/time dimension analysis.
- Expert creating various visualizations using Slicers, Maps, Lines, Pies, Histograms, Scatter, Bullets, Heat Maps, Tree maps, etc.
· Experience in generating Drill through and Drill down reports with drop down menu option, sorting the data, and defining subtotals in Power BI.
- Should have requirement gathering and documentation experience.
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience in Business Administration or similar area of study.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience with the Power BI service including workspaces, dashboards, reports, user access and query/modeling.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
