The Early Intervention Casework Manager 2 is responsible for the ongoing development and expansion of a comprehensive, county wide, community based, culturally competent, and family focused early intervention program as outlined in Act 212, The Early Intervention Services Systems Act, and the Early Intervention Services Regulations-Chapter 4225. As the Director of Early Intervention Services, you will report directly to the MH/ID Administrator. You will be responsible for the supervision of the Casework Manager 1 (1), Early Intervention Supervisors (4), who will supervise seventeen (17) service coordinators. You will also supervise the Clerical Support Staff (2). This component requires formal, informal, and group supervision related to the delivery of quality Early Intervention service management services. You, along with the supervisors, will be responsible for orientation and pre-service training of new staff and the identification and procurement of ongoing annual training as required in the Early Intervention Services Regulations-Chapter 4225. You will participate in the annual performance review process as well as disciplinary or dismissal activities, if necessary. You will also be the primary person who interviews new applicants and recommends who is hired.
You will be responsible for the management of a county wide comprehensive child find network. This network provides a communication link between the Early Intervention Program and potential referral sources such as: NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Units); Physicians; Day Care Centers; Health Care Workers; Well Baby Clinics; EPSDT providers; Social Services; child Protective Services Programs; Drug and Alcohol Programs; Health Bureaus and Early Intervention Programs. This system assures that all at-risk children and infants and toddlers with disabilities in the defined geographical area of the county MH/ID program are identified, located, and evaluated. You will serve as the presenter/speaker for requests for presentations by the local community and will participate on all boards and councils that serve the early childhood community.
As Director of Early Intervention Services, you will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing activities of the Local Interagency Coordinating Council. You will also serve as county liaison to other local, regional, and state committees/forums on Early Intervention and/or Early Childhood Services.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment.- Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 1-hour lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Four years of experience in public or private social work including two years in a public welfare program, two of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; and a bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
