JOB TITLE: CDL Driver/Equipment Operator

LOCATION: 200 Commerce Drive, Madisonville KY 42431

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Shift Hours: Monday through Friday 9am-1pm

POSITION SUMMARY

As a member of WebstaurantStore’s Kentucky Distribution Facilities, you have the primary responsibility for supporting Inbound and Outbound operations by ensuring containers and trailers are relocated to the requested dock doors and/or yard space in a timely manner. The CDL Driver/Equipment Operator should remain in communication with Inbound and Outbound management teams to ensure accurate and timely movement of containers and trailers on a scheduled daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Properly inspect Capacity Truck daily for any damage or unsafe operating conditions before use
• Safely operate and maintain warehouse equipment to carry out job duties to ensure a safe work environment
• Communicating with warehouse maintenance supervisor with any issues or concerns that arise regarding work duties
• Operate lift equipment as assigned by management
• Performing other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; shipping, receiving and/or inventory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a valid CDL Class A and have proven safe driving record
• At least two years of CDL A driving experience
• Must be able to communicate effectively with distribution center managers and delivery location staff
• Must be willing to work and drive outside in all weather conditions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
• Ability to operate and maintain a commercial vehicle while abiding by all warehouse, local, state, and government regulations
• Must be familiar with transporting containers/trailers ranging from 20ft to 53ft
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations
• Must have regular and predictable onsite attendance

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs
• Requires the ability to pass DOT Medical Examination

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
