Community Engagement Specialist Job at New Belgium Brewing Company
As the Community Engagement Specialist, you will report to the Social Impact Sr. Manager and be a member of the Social Impact Team within the Environment Social Governance (ESG) department, providing operational, administrative and customer service support across our programs. ESG is responsible for New Belgium's Force for Good strategy including our carbon neutral commitments, Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work, $1.5 million giving fund, and coworker impact initiatives. This role will coordinate community engagement efforts nationally across our sites in Colorado, North Carolina, Michigan, Virginia and the broader United States. Based in one of our home communities- Asheville, NC, this roll furthers our commitment to giving back in the Western North Carolina region.
Essential Duties:
- Provide ongoing support to coworkers, nonprofits, and community partners via New Belgium's online giving and volunteering tools; measurement and regular reporting on community initiatives; supporting internal and external communication of various community programs.
- Administration of multi-site corporate volunteer program and ambassador network. Initiate and administer coworker volunteer activities and rewards.
- Leverage software and tools including Benevity, Submittable, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams, to manage application process, reporting, and high-level due diligence verification to ensure timely, consistent, applicant-centered approach and engagement across channels.
- Provide day-to-day systems support assisting employees by engaging in regular dialogue and training to increase participation in all social impact programs.
- Provide support for coworker volunteer group events, cause events, marketing campaigns/activations and maintenance of key partnerships representing ESG and in collaboration with the Asheville leadership team.
- Contribute to the development of strategies, practices, tools and engagement with key stakeholders in Asheville as called upon by functional leaders.
- Supports Asheville activation of DEI strategies and outreach within the New Belgium community as directed by DEI.
- Leverage reputational assets (e.g. activation events, year-end reporting) to regularly communicate ESG strategic focus and impact.
- Support strategic partnerships, including identifying areas for collaboration in alignment with strategy, roadmap, and KPIs.
- Engage with internal and external partners to reach social impact targets.
- Provide customer service support to coworkers and charitable partners.
- Support annual coworker engagement opportunities at the Retreat and creation of future, signature volunteer and philanthropic programs.
- Support social impact data and reporting to track engagement, performance, and governance commitments on a quarterly and annual basis.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- 3-5 years of related administrative, project management and operational work experience with external partners, internal team leads,
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; passion for developing and nurturing relationships; able to communicate effectively and articulately in writing and orally
- Ability to learn quickly, manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong desire to contribute to a collaborative team, dive in where needed, offer excellent service to our customers and building strong relationships at all levels
- Entrepreneurial spirit, passion for innovation, and a commitment to driving positive social change
- Love of building processes and data in pursuit of purpose

- Willing to attend occasional work functions outside of standard business hours
Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell’s and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.
Starting Wage Range: $23.00 - 26.75
