Responsibilities include assisting with:

• Assist in managing construction contracts for heavy civil projects
• Reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications
• Performing initial review of contractor submittals for constructability and compliance
• Measuring, calculating and documenting quantities
• Maintaining daily construction logs
• Serve as on-site construction observer assisting the Resident Project Representative (RPR) in documenting that work reasonably conforms to contract documents
• Support design team outside construction season with drafting tasks using CAD/Civil 3D software, cost estimations and grant administration

This position requires working outside in a variety of conditions, and the ability to perform work independently. Travel to aviation construction sites is an essential function of this position. A valid driver’s license is required, extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

• Experience providing inspection on civil engineering construction projects
• Understanding of materials testing procedures and state/federal certifications are preferred
• Safety certified (OSHA 10, or OSHA 30)
• General survey practice knowledge
