Purpose

DFCU’s Core System Analyst is the credit union’s Subject Matter Expert for all things related to Jack Henry & Associates’ (JHA) Symitar Core. The Analyst will be responsible for all modules and aspects of the JHA Symitar Core to include testing and integration of programs that improve the end user’s and credit union’s experience with core.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and configures the Symitar system. Maintains access; and grants access, to Episys for users, computers and servers. Manages Episys production and test Sym environments.
• Conducts and controls all core programming tasks, including program design, coding, debugging and documentation. Develops reports and automation through use of Symitar Repgen/PowerON, batch scripts, shell scripts, Python, SQL, Opcon and/or other appropriate programming languages. Maintains coding best practices and conducts code reviews. Leads effort in core software development life cycle.
• Troubleshoots core system issues with and for staff. Opens cases with JHA Ease team on behalf DFCU. Serves as the main point of contact for the JHA Ease team, and liaises between JHA and DFCU staff for any inquires and open cases.
• Leads development, implementations, upgrades, and maintenance of any Epysis version releases and all JHA programs – including ARCU, EasyWriter, ImageCenter, PowerFrame Docs, ECS, and others.
• Helps lead core centric projects and communication with third-party vendors that integrate to core (i.e., Meridian Link, Online banking, CO-OP, etc.) Also acts as the main resource with those vendors with any project(s) in which they need assistance with core. This may sometimes include working with, and troubleshooting, hardware that works with core (i.e., Cash recycler machines, signature pads, printers & check printers, etc.)
• Work with management to evaluate and determine if any systems upgrades are necessary through Repgen/PowerON development or SOW directly with JHA.
• Writes/develops Repgens/PowerONs for DFCU as needed, this includes seeking build or implementation instructions/details on the JHA Marketplace and/or JHA University.
• Works with DFCU Training Specialist to develop any necessary core training programs or sessions for DFCU staff. This includes training new employees during onboarding to more intricate specialized training for more experienced staff.
• Help with other select IT related projects or functions as needed or asked by management.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a four-year college – equivalent work experience may substitute for stated qualifications.
• A minimum of two years in a role with significant hands-on Symitar/Epysis experience, and other JHA programs.
• Expert or strong knowledge of Symitar’s Epysis Quest software.
• Expert or strong knowledge of Symitar’s PowerOn/Repgen programming and implementation.
• Detailed knowledge of Credit Union regulatory and compliance processes: Escheatment, Credit Reporting, Tax Reporting, Backup Withholding, 1042-S, Statements, Dormant Accounts, FIDM/FIRM, FICO Refresh, Document Retention, etc.
• Knowledge of Credit Union operations: IT, Accounting, Member Services, Operations, Lending, Audit, Marketing, Fraud, Collections, day-end, month-end and year-end
• Experience in a Symitar EASE environment.
• Experience managing the Epysis Goodnight process.
