Addison Group Los Angeles, in partnership with a Downtown Los Angeles company, has been engaged to seek a Corporate Controller on a direct hire basis for this breakout company to secure their future CFO!

Job - The successfully hired Corporate Controller will, along with your accounting team, be leading corporate accounting functions for the company, including working on consolidated statements, running the periodic closes, financial reporting, journal entries, account reconciliation and creating/documenting systems and processes. You will report to the Chief Operating Officer.

Compensation – Salary range is $140,000-$180,000/year. Our client supplements base compensation with bonuses, stock options, and 401(k) retirement plans.

DUTIES OF THE CORPORATE CONTROLLER

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting

• Lead/develop your accounting team during the month and quarter-end closing processes for 5-7 entities.
• Produce consolidated financial statements to produce an accurate corporate balance sheet
• Oversee AP, AR, and Payroll functions
• Review all relevant entries, vendor payments, and intercompany transactions
• Manage cash/treasury and cost/inventory

Financial Reporting

• Prepare balance sheet and P&L account analysis & reconciliations
• Cash flow and sales forecasting

Compliance and Controls

• Perform risk assessments and implement/maintain internal controls
• Implement SOX Controls
• Liaise with external auditor

Miscellaneous

• Hire, train, coach, and develop your accounting team
• Maintain relationships with key lenders, insurance brokers, and vendors
• Accept other ad hoc duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CORPORATE CONTROLLER

Required

• CPA
• Current or prior employment at a SaaS company or has used SaaS
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus
• Corporate General Ledger experience
• At least ten (10) years of progressive accounting experience
• Current GAAP knowledge
• Multi-entity/consolidations experience

Preferred

• Employed by a company owned by a private equity firm

Technical

• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
• Significant experience in a large ERP system or SaaS system

• Confident hands-on leader and mentor

• Embraces supervisory role with clear direction, expectation, and guidance
• Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity
