This position is expected to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Stakeholder Engagement Division (SED) project. SED's mission is to achieve a secure and resilient infrastructure for the American people. SED coordinates stakeholder engagements and partnerships to support the agency's efforts to reduce national risk.
Our team works on-site with a 9x80 schedule located at our REC facility with every other Friday off!

Responsibilities Include:
The project includes business analysis, research, and computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office) skills that will be applied to developing and implementing emerging infrastructure trends, infrastructure risk and resilience analysis, cybersecurity performance goals, information sharing with infrastructure collaborators, and applying and enhancing analytical capabilities for infrastructure resilience.
Identifying sector- and cross-sector emerging trends, identifying and analyzing sector- and cross-sector infrastructure risk and resilience, and supporting sector-specific roll out of cybersecurity performance goals.
Creation of infrastructure reports, documents and products associated with infrastructure risk and resilience, cross-sector interdependencies, system vulnerabilities, consequences and cascading impacts from a holistic, all-hazards perspective (e.g., cyber, physical, natural hazard).
Demonstrated ability to have solid research skills and practice scientific problem solving to identify and analyze infrastructure resilience. The candidate must also be able to maintain awareness of emerging trends in critical infrastructure protection and have solid communication skills.
This is an entry level position where the candidate may initially have little experience with the various job aspects, but is expected to grow in understanding quickly.
The candidate will work under close supervision involving detailed instructions and regular and frequent review of work performance associated with job functions.
The position requires demonstrated initiative, excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor degree in science/engineering, political science, business, geography (GIS/remote sensing), technical writing, mathematics, software engineering, statistics.
When required, must be able to work in a restricted work environment to include handling/storing/processing CUI information.
Must possess good customer interface and communications skills (verbal e.g., presentations, training; written e.g., proposals, technical reports).
Must be able to adapt to new technologies and apply scientific problem solving and critical thinking to identify, promote, and develop new technical and analytical capabilities.
Must demonstrate knowledge and strong interest associated with critical infrastructure engineered systems characterization, risk analysis, disaster response/recovery, policy, and interdependency analysis.
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "BAO" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information
Salary Grade 190 ($70,680 - $116,616)
