Summary
Customer service professional responsible for answering claims and eligibility-related questions from physicians, hospitals, and other medical providers that participate in Maine Medicaid. Additionally, providing updates to members on Benefit Plan Choice Selection. Answering customer inquiries to ensure processing is by billing procedures. Follow up with supervisor and/or provider representatives on more complex, non-routine customer inquiries, including member requests and concerns. Responsible for follow-up and call resolution including callbacks and closing call references. Excellent verbal communication skills are required. Previous medical or medical billing experience is a plus, but not necessary.
Your role in our mission
- Answers telephones and responds to moderately complex customer questions and/or forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
- Researches customer inquiries and responds to appropriate parties promptly.
- Records calls, processes requests and updates account history with results of inquiry to include proper documentation.
- Processes and distributes incoming and outgoing mail for multiple clients by established service-level agreements.
- Performs data entry and matches documents to appropriate accounts to verify up-to-date and accurate information.
What we're looking for
- Two years or more of customer service experience, either face-to-face or by phone.
- Detail oriented
- Prompt and reliable
- Good typing and computer skills
- Excellent verbal communication and Customer Service skills

The pay range for this position is $33,500.00 - $47,900.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
