A Payments Product Data Analyst will support the Payments Product Team through enterprise-level Analytics via thoughtful data analysis using SQL, Python and/or R to discover product improvement opportunities while building tracking for ongoing measurement for KRs, initiatives, and feature launches. Create assets to present to the product team and leadership team around outcomes of analyses. Partner with the product and data science team on experimentation.
Your impact
- Perform exploratory analyses to uncover growth opportunities for our Payments product
- Become a subject matter expert on Payments and Product Data within AppFolio
- Discover actionable insights for product optimization through customer journey and customer cohort analyses
- Be familiar with logic and query-sets to obtain KPIs, while reviewing historic data values, throughout the Payments metric suite
- Develop data-driven hypotheses for high ROI investments in our Payments business
- Leverage SQL, Python or R skills to investigate datasets and explain customer behavior
- Partner closely with Product Team members to answer business critical questions and drive our product pipeline through KPI and funnel creation
- Meet business goals by leveraging a deep business knowledge combined with analytical analysis
- Translate findings into data projects/initiatives that enable business growth
- Present and operationalize outcomes to stakeholders through various methods including presentations, tracking, and data products
- Share back analysis results to technical and non-technical stakeholders, in a clear and accurate way to support data driven drive decision-making
- Create easy to understand assets, including presentations, dashboards and readouts to walkthrough data analyses and explain analysis insights
- Create complex and insightful Data Products to help support actionable business outcomes based on data analysis results
- Develop new dashboards to auto-update and provide a clear, live view into health (drivers/KPIs)
- Continue to challenge/optimize/update dashboard suite to be best-in-class and accessible for Payments leaders to make key business decisions
- Follow documentation requirements to ensure durable and repeatable queries in DBT
Qualifications
- Business acumen – understands key challenges facing our business and partners with key stakeholders to find creative ways to apply data science to solve them; connects dots between data & business outcomes
- Data Analytics skills – able to identify, measure, model, and impact the important metrics needed to manage and monitor the Payments business. Additionally able to build Tableau dashboards, launch exploratory analyses, deploy clustering models and run A/B tests.
- Attention to detail – appropriately checks all work for errors and does not let important details slip when it comes to data and its accuracy
- Creative problem solving - able to use creativity and curiosity as tools to pick apart any problem, producing a solution which is relevant and realistic
- Efficiency – able to quickly iterate on data generation and refinement. Looks for ways to improve processes to maximize efficiency and remove redundancy
Must-Have
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a Data Analytics role.
- Strong business acumen and experience in a business setting
- Strong Tableau, SQL, R (or Python) and Excel skills required
- Working knowledge of Salesforce suggested
- Ability to support, work and communicate with a fast, cross-functional team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Listening and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate ideas in both technical and business terms
- Highly self-motivated and self-directed
- Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $83,000 - 125,000
The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
