JOB SUMMARY: The Data Specialist will organize data for the use of analytics and reporting. The primary responsibilities include running data queries, maintaining data integrity and security, and ensuring the proper sorting and organizing of databases. The Data Specialist will work directly with the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) team to ensure reporting and data quality. This is a part-time position, 28-32 hours/week, and the schedule can be flexible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in data collection and management.
  • Attend meetings to support data collection.
  • Use software to run data queries
  • Maintain data integrity and security
  • Use extra security precautions when handling personally identifiable data.
  • Maintain data on HealthFirst devices.
  • Compile data, and prepare reports for management, meetings, and presentations.
  • Assist staff with data entry as needed.
  • Bring any data issues or trends to the attention of the management team.
  • Managing MAT spreadsheet.
  • Manage grant reporting.
  • Manage MAT and initiative reporting (Echo report, etc.).
  • Complete risk audit review as needed
  • Participate in chart audits when requested by insurance companies.
  • Scanning and uploading medical records into the EMR.
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES

  • Strong communication skills, problem solving, time management, organizational skills, initiative, and follow-through.
  • Experience with database administration.
  • Proficiency with database languages
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge about grant reporting.
  • Ability and aptitude to work effectively both independently and with others.
  • Experience working with a variety of people and organizations on multiple levels.
  • Ability to use discretion and exercise independent judgment.
  • Adaptability when dealing with constantly changing processes, computer systems and government programs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years’ experience with reporting and data collection.
  • Experience with health information systems and platforms preferred.
