The Director of Men’s Basketball Sports Performance is responsible for developing and administering strength and conditioning programs for Men’s Basketball at Temple University. Under the direction of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Director will design and implement programs to improve the athletic performance of student-athletes. In addition to sports performance, the incumbent will be required to implement programs for nutrition as well as for injury prevention, via corrective exercise protocols. The incumbent will work alongside the head coach and the athletic training staff to protect and preserve the health, safety, and welfare of all student-athletes. Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and at least two or more years of directly related experience. Previous experience with a Division I Men’s Basketball program preferred. Knowledge of NCAA and Conference regulations. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate with all student-athletes, coaches, and athletic administration.
  • Must be able to work a highly variable schedule including nights and weekends.
  • Must be able to life 30 - 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, strong leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize diverse tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to liaise with the coaching staff for officiating and rules, including University guidelines, American Athletic Conference guidelines, and NCAA rules.
