The Direct Care Manager (DCM) serves as the leading force of StreetLightUSA’s Direct Care (DC) services for both of StreetLightUSA’s residential programs. The Direct Care Manager is responsible for supporting Direct Care services via managerial, mentorship, and modeling strategies. A primary focus of this position is to ensure that direct care is provided in a manner that is aligned with the organizations mission and vision, policies and procedures, as well as licensing guidelines. The Direct Care Manager must be passionate about the mission of StreetLightUSA and dedicated to supporting the program’s needs within StreetLightUSA’s integrative care module.

This job requires an individual who is highly motivated, able to engage and motivate their staff, and able to prioritize and execute tasks in an organized and calm manner. The candidate for this position will also possess strong administrative skills and leadership skills that aid in the ability to execute sound decisions in crisis situations with exceptional skills in effectively managing conflict resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise the Direct Care Shift Leads, Direct Care team members and provide overall guidance and leadership to the direct care services team.
  • Manage Direct Care team scheduling.
  • Perform audits on medication, outing, and grievance binders.
  • Collaborate with Campus Support team to ensure resident, direct care team, and campus safety as well as storage and inventory of resident valuables.
  • Collaborate with Therapeutic Program Coach, Activities Coordinator, and Academic Coordinator in relation to scheduling of activities and transports (to include co-managing the appropriate/related calendars).
  • Under the guidance of the Residential Services Director and Chief Operations Officer, oversee all aspects of preparing for quarterly and annual audits by DCS/Office of Licensing and Regulation.
  • Support the Behavioral Support Incentive Program and ticketing system and ensure Direct Care team member’s are using the systems effectively.
  • In conjunction with the Support Services Director and Residential Services Director, ensure residential services are being delivered in a timely manner to residents of the StreetLightUSA programs.
  • Provide assistance to Direct Care team as needed with self-administration of medication procedures.
  • Intervene during crisis situations to assess and de-escalate based on resident and staff safety and urgent needs.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for direct care emergency needs.
  • Be prepared to utilize Crisis Prevention and Intervention, First Aid, and/or CPR skills when needed.
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned related to scope of position.

Qualifications, Education, Certifications and Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience in the child welfare or child-care services field.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in social work or a related area of study from an accredited school preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two to five years of experience working with individuals within a group home environment preferred.
  • Non-profit work environment experience preferred.
  • Valid driver license and clean driving history.
  • Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention or Crisis Intervention Training certification preferred.
  • Background cleared of any criminal offenses disqualifying employment (i.e.: Sexual abuse of a minor, first or second-degree murder, sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a minor, felony drug offenses, robbery, dangerous crime against children, etc.)
  • Documented clearance of freedom from communicable diseases (TB Test) and clearance to perform essential duties.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
