Director of AI Initiatives Job at Harvard University
Job Summary
The Harvard Medical School Department of Biomedical Informatics ("DBMI") is seeking a full-time Director of the Artificial Intelligence ("AI") Initiatives to help build the future of the rapidly evolving use of AI in the Healthcare field. A key priority of DBMI is to advance the use of AI toward improving our understanding, our ability to diagnose, and our ability to treat diseases by individualizing treatments. The AI Initiative aims to educate, support and inspire leaders across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
The Director of the AI Initiative will partner with Dr. Isaac Kohane, Chair, DBMI, and Dr. Susanne Churchill, Executive Director of DBMI as a senior leader responsible for leading the development of DBMI’s new AI Initiatives, a collaborative environment of academic and business entities that is focused solely on AI. The Director will be a subject matter expert with a strong scientific background in computer science, technical expertise in the area of AI, and a proven track record of driving partnerships and developing business relationships to carry out the goals of the AI Initiatives. Moreover, expertise specifically in AI applications in healthcare will be of strategic utility as most AI practitioners have little insight into the scientific and societal opportunities and regulatory constraints specific to medicine.
