The Director of Business Development will manage & motivate a current team of managers and individual contributors (BDRs). The ultimate goal of the Director is to achieve team and individual quotas. They also must be able to measure, monitor and hold managers accountable for their team activities and results. This person will work directly with managers and individual contributors to improve cold calling, qualification and discovery process, prospecting sequences, appointment setting, follow up, organization, and overall position effectiveness. This position will work with, and report to the Chief Revenue Officer to increase efficiencies and processes within the department. This person will mentor each manager individually while also building a strong, cohesive, collaborative team that is responsible for supplying qualified leads to SalesIntel Account Executives.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Manage & motivate a team of Managers and Business Development Representatives (BDR) to achieve team and individual opportunity generation quotas
  • Measure, monitor and hold Business Development Managers and BDRs accountable for their activities and results as well as lead by example
  • Work directly with Business Development Managers to improve calling, qualification and discovery calls, prospecting sequences, appointment setting, follow up, organization, and overall prospecting effectiveness
  • Work with the Chief Revenue Officer to increase efficiencies and processes within the department
  • Mentor each Business Development Manager individually while also building a strong, cohesive, collaborative team that is responsible for supplying qualified leads to SalesIntel Account Executives
Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of lead generation management experience with specific experience in software/SaaS based company AND 3+ years prior experience in a quota-carrying individual contributor role
  • Quota-attainment record of meeting and/or exceeding targets by managing process for identifying, qualifying, & closing new business as well as and not limited to growing an existing install base
  • Track record of building, coaching and enabling a rapidly growing team and front line leaders
  • Experience leading teams that generate leads from a variety of industries and territories as well as experience helping leaders and sellers cultivate relationships key
  • Capacity to work on and lead cross-functional projects and teams as needed as well as leverage internal resources to problem-solve
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – includes excellent reporting (CRM) and forecasting skills
  • Proficient technology/software skills, specifically in Salesforce, Outreach, G-Suite, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Hubspot preferred
This is a hybrid role with reasonable commuting distance to our office in Tysons Corner, VA.
