    License and Certification Qualifications: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

    Education Qualifications: Master's degree in related field required. Specialist's or doctoral degree in related field preferred.

    Experience Qualifications: Five years of successful teaching experience and five years of leadership in a K-12 setting required.

    Skills Qualifications: Ability to express ideas and thoughts verbally and in written form. Ability to exhibit good listening and comprehension. Ability to select and use appropriate communication methods and to keep others adequately informed. Competence in required tasks, job duties and knowledge regarding Community Schools. Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new skills. Staying abreast of current developments, program changes, and ensuring adherence to local, state and federal guidelines. Ability to make decisions using sound and accurate judgement, to involve all parties and shareholders in decision-making process as appropriate. Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision. Demonstrated understanding of how job relates to others. Ability to use resources effectively. Ability to implement program activities to support student achievement. Ability to prioritize, plan work activities, and use time efficiently and in an organized manner.

    Primary Responsibilities: Direct the activities and processes associated with the development, implementation, and evaluation of student activities and the community schools? programs for the district.

    1. Direct the Community School Director to plan, design, organize, implement, and manage age-appropriate learning opportunities for program participants in after-school programs, enrichment programs and summer camps.
    2. Direct the implementation of policies and procedures of the Community School program.

    3. Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment that addresses the needs and interests of each child and foster positive self-image and respect for social, racial, and cultural differences for each participant.

    4. Ensure the Community School program meets standards of high quality and best practices in out of school learning opportunities for families by planning community related activities that meet the needs of families.

    5. Maintain an open communication with families.

    6. Design, develop, and implement a community-based mentoring program targeted toward the needs of students within clusters

    a. Synthesize findings from current and relevant research regarding mentoring programs.
    b. Review components of community-based mentoring programs currently in operation in other top achieving school districts.
    c. Collaborate with school leadership staff to identify students as potential candidates for participation in the mentoring program.
    d. Ensure alignment of program design with the district's strategic vision for results.
    e. Network with community-based agencies and organizations to establish a candidate pool of potential mentors.
    f. Compile baseline data as a critical reference to drive program design and implementation.
    g. Establish goals related to performance targets for improved behavior and academic performance.
    h. Review available grant opportunities for program funding support and pursue as appropriate.

    7. Create and establish an environment that responds to the needs of students by connecting social and emotional well-being resources to students and their families

    8. Design program guidelines and procedures for effective mentoring practices.
    a. Review and select appropriate materials and resources to support the program.
    b. Identify research-based best practices to establish program standards.
    c. Develop schedule of mentoring activities to provide a planning structure for students,parents, local schools, and mentors.
    d. Design an effective training program for mentors.
    e. Develop formal and informal evaluation processes to determine program effectiveness.
    f. Support other district programs and initiatives designed to promote academic rigor for identified students

    9. Supervise and evaluate program support staff.

    10. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:
