Position Summary: The Director of Network Engineering is responsible for maintain our network assets including cell site routers, network access routers, FTTP PONs, Core routing and switching systems including Enhanced Packet Core and our compute and storage systems. This position will also be responsible to develop and plan all wireless and wireline projects including RAN, microwave backhaul, fiber backhaul, and power plant. The Director will work with a cross functional group to ensure all plans are accurate and prepared in accordance with the deployment schedules. The Director will also be responsible for evaluating new network technologies and lead proof of concept deployments. Additionally, the role will serve as part of the core team responsible for defining and developing cohesive strategies and tactics that align with organizational objectives. Travel to other offices will be required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all core infrastructure, network peering policies, routing, switching, storage, and compute
- Responsible for development of wireline and wireless network backhaul design.
- Work with Wireless Operations on physical design restrictions and adjust plans as required.
- Recruit, train and develop a team of engineers and technicians to assist with Wireless and Fiber Network Architecture and planning.
- Design project and site BOM to be turned over to procurement and Operations.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to establish wireless project designs, scopes, deliverables, and timelines
- Plan network projects related to, FTTP deployments, LTE-Advanced RAN deployments, 5G NR, site modification, small-cell deployments, and systems upgrades
- Works closely with Procurement to develop vendor relationships and purchasing/inventory timelines
- Review, manage, and oversee purchase and licensing of core, wireless, and wireline equipment necessary to deliver and manage subscriber services
- Identify, develop, and manage supplier and vendor relationships
- Evaluate new network technologies and lead proof of concept deployments
- Interface with multiple teams and departments to ensure project completion on time and within budget
- Maintain and enhance a strong customer service-oriented environment for both internal and external customers, focused on problem avoidance and resolution.
Skills & Requirements:
- 8 years or more in relevant job experience including analyzing, configuring, troubleshooting, designing complex carrier ISP networks.
