We are looking for a Director of Staff Development to join our team!
Requirements: Valid LVN License in good standing
Some of the duties include:
- Develop and monitor the goals and objectives of the in-service trainings for the facility
- Interviewing, hiring and orienting new employees
- Creating and maintaining records and reports pertinent to in-service requirements
- Partnering with Administrator and DON to meet daily staffing and PPD goals
- Reviewing and creating daily staffing schedule
- Attending meetings and serving on committee's as required
- Ensuring that all staff attend and participate in in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard
- Responsible for providing direct patient care when not performing DSD duties
- Representing the department at and participate in top level meetings
- Implementing recommendations from the Quality Assessment and Assurance Committee as they relate to the educational needs of the facility
- Maintaining a positive and calm disposition when communicating with staff, residents, family, visitors, government entities, etc.
- Following Infection and Control policies and procedures
- Reporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediately
- Protecting each resident's file and data with confidentially per HIPAA standards
- Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords
