Job Title: Facilities Assistant Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Facilities Manager Effective Date: April 1, 2023

Job Summary:

South Valley Equine’s Facilities Assistant will support the Facilities Manager in all building and system-related maintenance activities. In this capacity, the Facilities Assistant will be responsible for preserving the good condition of SVE’s infrastructure. In accordance with applicable with regulatory practices, the Facilities Assistant will collaborate with the Facilities Manager to ensure that the building and other facilities are safe and are functioning efficiently.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Act in support of the Facilities Manager.
• Assist with all new installations and refurbishments, as needed.
• Assist in general upkeep of equipment in accordance with safety requirements and regulations.
• Facilitate overall upkeep and stock of supplies in accordance health and safety regulations.
• Perform landscaping upkeep.
• Assist in the repairs or renovation of the facility.
• Coach and mentor facilities barn staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle preventative maintenance and use (ie. skid steer and tractor).
• Ability to operate a heavy equipment (ie. skid steer and tractor) with a valid Driver License.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them if/when appropriate.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Operation of large equipment (ie. skid steer and tractor).
• Experience in facilities / maintenance preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, at times.
• Must be able to access and navigate all terrains of the facilities.
• Occasionally be exposed to outside weather conditions, if necessary.
• Must be able to work occasional weekends or overtime shifts, as needed.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

• Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
