Title: Field Services Technician

What’s the Opportunity?

Anchor QEA is seeking full-time field services technicians (non-exempt, hourly) to support active projects, primarily near our office locations in Eastern US but also nationwide as necessary. The successful candidate will be able to work alongside others in a fast-paced environment, be enthusiastic about their work with a strong commitment to health/safety and technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

Below is a summary of responsibilities that can be anticipated:

• Support site investigation and construction monitoring activities including environmental sample collection (soil, sediment, surface water), water quality monitoring, and/or air monitoring on land or in-water.
• Perform groundwater monitoring sampling, monitoring well development, and testing
• Collection and processing of fish species for testing and population surveys with the use of a variety of techniques including netting and electrofishing
• Support wetland delineations and surveys of restored wetlands
• Perform aquatic plant surveys including identification and mapping
• Field data collection using primarily digital field technologies (tablets, GPS, specialized monitoring equipment)
• Record field notes to the specific task performed at each specific site
• Follow Anchor QEA policies and procedures including, but not limited to environmental health and safety, quality assurance and control
• Responsibilities may include general equipment management and maintenance duties
• Regular travel away from home office is required from time to time

What Are We Looking For?

Ideal candidates will have the following:

• Associates degree and minimum of 1 year of related fieldwork experience; or high school diploma/GED and 3+ years of related fieldwork experience
• The ability to work closely with other technical specialists as part of a larger project team
• Familiarity with digital field technology (GPS, use of field tablets for data collection) is preferred by not required
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is preferred but not required. OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training will be provided by Anchor QEA if this certification has not been obtained
• Small vessel experience and/or boaters certification is a plus
• Must have good driving record and able to drive a company vehicle
• Drug and alcohol screening, along with a background check may be required
