Paradise Valley Estates, a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community, located in Fairfield California is looking for a Fitness Specialist/ Personal Trainer. The Fitness Specialist/ Personal Trainer promotes the concept of whole person wellness in all departments and living areas within PVE to include residents and staff. Leads/instructs and motivates group exercise classes including Pilates, balance and functional fitness for residents showing high resident satisfaction standards. Responsible for creating a positive high energy respectful class environment that keeps residents motivated working towards their goals. Works within the fitness team to ensure we meet our growth goals and enhance positive communication within the team.

• Attends team meetings as required to set and discuss personal and team goals.
• The Fitness Specialist/ Personal Trainer must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day performing such activities as grasping, lifting, reaching, and to perform light physical work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on an occasional basis; to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner; carries out detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Must be capable of functioning independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, their families, personnel, and regulatory agencies. Candidates must have CPR certification and appropriate AFAA< ACSM, NASM, or Aquatic certification for classes.
• Must have 3-5 years of experience in teaching senior fitness classes.

Experience:

• Group Exercise: 3 years (Required)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

License or certification:

• AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or Aquatic Certification (Required)
