General maintenance technician is responsible for routine maintenance and repair of the campus and facilities. This entry-level position, reports to the General Maintenance Supervisor under the supervision of the Campus Facility Manager.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled technical tasks for routine maintenance duties to facilities and outdoor structures
- Performs a variety of scheduled preventative maintenance tasks
- Conducts routine walk-through inspections of the facilities and outdoor structures
- Assist in skilled trades repair and maintenance
- Escorts contractors when professional services are necessary
- Ability to follow/ reference standard operating procedures
- Ability to use hand/ power tools
- Ability to diagnose/ troubleshoot issues
- Completes work orders as assigned
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Service Excellence
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
- Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- Six (6) months General Maintenance experience
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Prior experience with the operation of fork-lifts, bobcats and backhoes
- Basic plumbing knowledge
- Basic electrical knowledge
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
