This position is an integral member of the Development Team and works to position Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland as a premier funding partner serving central, south central and western Kentucky by connecting grantors and corporate donors to neighbors facing hunger through FAKH’s programs.

Essential Functions:

· Study and understand the history, structure, objectives, programs and financial needs of Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland.

· Research corporate, foundation and government grant opportunities.

· Draft and submit grant proposals and supporting documents including program and agency budgets.

· Maintain financial records and adhere to grantors’ reporting requirements in an organized and timely manner.

· Build relationships with current and potential grantors and corporate partners.

· Assist Communications and Marketing Manager in the promotion of funding partnerships.

· Implement 2023-2025 strategic plan goal and tactics to achieve required FAKH funding needs.

· Fully utilize grant management platform to inform proposals.

· Become grant ready by preparing narratives and budget for each program.

· Leverage preparedness to request multi-year funding and grants.

· Perform annual analysis of funding portfolio.

· Adhere to Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethical Standards and Donor Bill of Rights to ensure ethical, trustworthy and transparent fundraising practices.

· Other fundraising and Development Team related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Associates degree required in English, communications, creative writing or other related area; or equivalent education and/or experience.

· Two years or more experience in grant administration.

· Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources.

· Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Pass all required pre-employment tests.

· Must have a valid Kentucky state driver’s license and good driving record.

Work Schedule: Hybrid. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Some travel within the FAKH service area will be required. Days and hours are flexible to fit the needs of the FAKH mission.

FLSA Status: Hourly

Reports to: Director of Development

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
