Primary Function*
The primary function of a Groundskeeper is to maintain the Glenwood Hot Springs grounds by performing general landscaping duties in a safe, efficient and friendly manner.
Reporting and Accountability
The Groundskeeper reports to, and is accountable to, the Facility and Grounds Maintenance Manager.
Authority
The Groundskeeper has the support and authority necessary to carry out the responsibilities and tasks described in this job description and other responsibilities of the Facility and Grounds maintenance department, as delegated by the Manager.
Physical Requirements

• Adequate physical agility to traverse the entire facility for inspection, including climbing stairs and hills, working on uneven ground.
• Adequate physical agility to perform normal maintenance activities such as climbing ladders, kneeling, reaching, lifting, stooping, twisting and using hand tools, power tools and motorized equipment, and measuring devices.
• Able to push, pull, carry and lift up to 75 pounds including mowers
• Ability to tolerate vibrations while operating motorized equipment.

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Ability to tolerate being on feet for extended periods of time (standing and walking on hard surfaces)
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions including sunny and hot.

Other Requirements

• Basic mechanical ability and dexterity
• Prefer grounds maintenance experience in facilities similar to Glenwood Hot Springs: lawns, trees, shrubs, sprinkler systems, parking, and intensive exposure to the recreational public.

• Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.

Work Hours
Although the Groundskeeper is a seasonal position, work hours and days must be flexible, and include holidays and weekends, to meet the needs of the Facility Maintenance Department. Weather and/or fertilization will necessitate schedule adjustment to complete weekly tasks.
