The primary responsibility of the House Person is to ensure and maintain the cleanliness of all interior and exterior public spaces including, but not limited to, hotel lobbies, stairwells, restrooms, hallways, entryways, sidewalks, etc. The House Person serves as a shuttle driver escorting guests within a pre-determined radius of the property and running errands for the hotel. The House Person will assist the Room Attendant , Laundry Persons and Maintenance Helpers as needed. The House Person serves as a positive team member with the Maintenance department and other hotel departments.

Major Responsibilities

1. Ensures excellent customer service, superb public relations, and makes all guests feel comfortable and welcome at all times.

2. Carries guests’ luggage and assists the guest in any manner necessary to ensure the guest’s comfort upon checking in.

3. Ensures guest rooms are properly stocked with supplies &/or equipment and will deliver any guest amenities upon guest request.

4. Answers switchboard and assists Front Desk with security issues as needed.

• Housekeeping Tasks:

· Delivers linens, in-room amenities, and supplies to housekeeping closets.

· Returns dirty linens to laundry room and discards all trash.

· Washes and/or dries linens.

· Ensures all back of house areas, including entrances, break room, housekeeper closets, chute closets, and stairwells are clean and properly maintained.

· Makes up roll-a-way beds/cribs and returns them to storage.

· Maintains cleanliness in hallways, public restrooms, lobby, vending area, guest laundry, pool area, and fitness center.

• Maintenance Tasks:

· Handles minor maintenance problems which may have occurred during his/her shift that result in guest complaints and of which do not require supervision or direction of the Maintenance Manager (i.e. television malfunctions, HVAC complaints, etc.).

· Sets up and tears down meeting rooms when needed (Holiday Inn Express & Suites).

· Shovels snow and maintains exterior grounds during inclement weather to ensure guest and employee safety.

· Maintains the cleanliness of the exterior grounds during seasonable weather. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, sweeping, weed removal, trash cleanup, etc.

· Assists the Maintenance department (as needed without jeopardizing guest service at the “front of house”) by performing basic preventative maintenance functions which include, but are not limited to shampooing carpets, painting, scrubbing walls and ceilings, disassembling furniture/light fixtures to dust/clean thoroughly and reassembling furniture/light fixtures.

• Driving Tasks:

· Operates the company vehicle in a safe manner in accordance with all traffic laws, speed limits, and at all times, will drive in a courteous and defensive manner.

· Reports any driving violations and/or accidents immediately to management.

· Transports guests within boundaries specified by company standards.

· Ensures the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the company vehicle and maintains the vehicle log on a daily basis.

· Understands and adheres to all company standards when operating company vehicles which includes, but is not limited to, the requirement to wear seat belts and no use of tobacco or cell phones.

• Properly reports tips as required by Crown Holding Company Standards and IRS tax laws.
• Ensures guests’ privacy is upheld at all times.
• Remains courteous and professional with and offers assistance to the guests at all times.
• Follows strict sanitation and safety standards.
• Participates in on-going monthly trainings and is required to participate in trainings such as annual C.A.R.E./Alcohol training, annual sanitation training and monthly safety trainings.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.

Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a valid Driver's License.
