Position Overview
Shaw Industries is looking for an HR Trainer to provide both direct training and training supportive functions to help associates gain and maintain the skills and knowledge they need to perform safely, efficiently, and effectively. In addition, this role will ensure all training is coordinated, scheduled, facilitated, and documented in accordance with internal and external program requirements

Responsibilities:

Drive and support business results and continuous improvement through the training and development of Shaw associates. Serve as a subject matter expert for any training and development needs.

Assist in providing associates with a smooth transition from training to successful work performance by evaluating, answering questions, and providing guidance - including day-to-day leadership of the on-the-job training process.

Lead New Hire Orientation and train all new associates on plant and company procedures and policies.

Must be able to provide training at various times of the day or night servicing all shifts.

Collect, update, and maintain Training metrics. Continuously learn and apply new training skills and techniques. Further develop, adapt, modify, and revise training as needed

Coordinate, schedule, and communicate all annual training classes (SAFE, SLA, personal/professional development, etc.)

Maintain appropriate training records for the facility, to provide a historical database, and in preparation for internal/external audits.

Conduct Lift Truck Training, certify Lift Truck Operators and issue lift truck license/maintain documentation.

Assist with HR and Training projects across departments within the facility.

Work with plant management to develop and maintain a work environment that supports continuous improvement regarding safety, quality, environmental, and productivity.

Assist with skills development and mentoring of COJT’s, across all departments.

Attend training department meetings and training sessions as directed by training manager. Perform other duties assigned by Training Manager.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

At least one year of previous experience in a training role.

Excellent communication skills, including group and individual presentation skills.

Must be a self-motivated individual and be able to maintain confidentiality.

Position requires working some nights and weekends as needed

Able to read, write, and speak English & Spanish fluently (preferred)

Previous manufacturing experience (preferred)

Microsoft Office / Google Applications proficiency (preferred)
