    License and Certification Qualifications: Current professional HR certification issued by HRCI (PHR or SPHR) or SHRM (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) preferred.

    Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required.

    Experience Qualifications: Three years of experience in business administration, human resources, or a related field required.

    Skills Qualifications: Ability to investigate effectively and properly document violations and complaints. Ability to work successfully with colleagues, teachers, administrators, and executive management; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality; high degree of skill in organization and problem-solving; demonstrated knowledge and skill with computer software including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office Suite; ability to prepare comprehensive reports; ability to process transactions; ability to multitask; thorough knowledge of federal and state equity laws; knowledge of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) policies and procedures, organization, and functions/procedures related to administrative standards and processes; thorough knowledge of personnel procedures and policies; ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, ability to resolve conflict; ability to act as a representative of GCPS; ability to comfortably conduct presentations to audiences of varying size and organizational makeup; and ability to work successfully across functional boundaries.

    Primary Responsibilities: Provide assistance in the organization, coordination, and implementation of substitute management processes. Assist with the recruitment and retention of substitutes.

    1. Coordinate and assist with all functions and activities related to substitute management for the district.
    a. Assist with the functions associated with maintaining an active substitute pool
    b. Ensure applicable retirees are reported to TRS annually
    c. Assist with the substitute mass termination process
    d. Work with the Payroll Services Department for payment processing and resolve any substitute payroll discrepancies

    2. Process substitute hires, terminations, and data in the PeopleSoft system in an accurate and timely manner.

    3. Coordinate all functions, scheduling, and activities related to Substitute Teacher Orientations
    a. Assist with presenting to attendees and preparing communication materials.
    b. Grant substitutes access to Absence Management upon satisfying a criminal background check

    4. Provide assistance in maintaining the district's substitute teacher, paraprofessional, and clinic worker training programs.
    a. Process data exports to ensure applicants are able to complete the training in a timely manner
    b. Assist with updating the substitute training programs to ensure they align with current operations and implement improvements

    5. Resolve and address inquiries, problems, and/or issues related to Absence Management in a timely manner.

    6. Assist and attend substitute management recruitment functions and events, including job fairs, expositions, and other events to inform individuals about the substitute application process.
    a. Assist local schools with recruiting long-term substitutes as needed

    7. Maintain the districts internal and external websites associated with Substitute Management Department

    8. Assist with gathering, organizing, and compiling Substitute Assessment Forms and other supporting documentation from local schools.
    a. Provide assistance with the GCPS Professionalism training module, including user enrollment, tracking status, and reporting
    b. Assist with collecting and analyzing data on investigations conducted

    9. Prepare responses to open records requests related to Substitutes
    10. Provide world-class customer service to all GCPS employees, all internal and external customers, substitute applicants, and substitutes.
    a. Communicate with all parties in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.

    11. Provide continuous quality improvement to departmental processes.

    12. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to touch, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
