Job Summary:
Under broad supervisor, the HR Generalist will support payroll administration, processing & leave administration activities for all company sites. This is an onsite position that will report to the Senior HR Manager. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for employee questions, advising on routine policies, assisting with HRIS and records maintenance, and special projects as needed. This position is responsible for entering all HR related payroll data in payroll platform, liaise with supervisors and employees on pay related issues and monitors data in HRIS, payroll platform and the data bridge in additional to employee relations and generalist job functions.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· In partnership with Sr. Human Resources Manager, aids in the development, implementation, and administration of HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance, consistency, and effectiveness, as well as ensuring compliance with all state, federal, local, and company regulations.
· Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
· Process, report and reconcile payroll in accordance with company policies and procedures.
· Respond to routine HR policy questions and payroll inquiries, such as assisting employees with making changes & updates to direct deposit, W-4, time off, etc., escalating as necessary.
· Maintain and update employee information in HRIS as needed.
· Maintain employee personnel files, provide reporting as needed and ensure all information is compliant.
· Coordinate leave and disability benefits. Provide timely and accurate information to insurance provider, employees and management. Responsible for all associated recordkeeping.
· Coordinate offboarding activities for employees.
· Complete employment verifications, HR Metrics, and other reporting as assigned.
· Support Senior HR Manager as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
· Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field with 5+ years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
· Direct experience in processing payroll for a large employer is required.
· Human Resources certification preferred (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or CPP etc.)
· Strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
· ADP WFN and payroll experience required. Workday experience strongly preferred.
· Multiple site and state payroll experience preferred; both union & non-union.
Specific Skills/Competencies Required:
· Must have strong knowledge of multiple Human Resources disciplines. Thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations, processes and procedures.
· Must be able to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
· Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and timely.
· Must be able to take the initiative, manage multiple tasks, manage projects, and prioritize workflow.
· Strong follow-up, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
· Excellent interpersonal skills required, with an ability to inspire trust and confidence with stakeholders at all levels by virtue of keen business acumen, professional competence, integrity, credibility, and personal style.
· Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including excellent presentation skills with the ability to deliver messages tailored to the audience a must.
